New toys!
Well, we’ve got a few new toys floating around the house, and I must say I’m enjoying it quite a bit.
The biggest news is Mike’s brand new iMac (not our photo, thanks Soonlar). I haven’t figured out what to do with all the desktop space. Really pushing the limits on it, and I must say, it’s really performed (specs, 24″, 2.88GHz, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM, the ATI card). Also picked up an eyeTV turner thing so we can finally watch cable upstairs. Not the greatest product ever (I prefer the quality on my HP card, actually), but it gets the job done and now we have a decent sized screen upstairs (the HP doesn’t cut it, quality or not). Also picked up a bit of external storage, as disk space has gotten preciously low recently, with the loss of my two work computers.
Also, I’m waiting for my new phone to arrive. Finally caved in and ordered the G1 which Ive been pondering getting. I liked my KRZR at first (it was also cheap at the time, and I needed a new phone after the old one died), but I’ve come to dislike it more and more over time. Basically, and I’m not the first saying it, Motorola phones are terrible. Slow, prone to crashing, easy breaking, that awful T9 imitation (iText, I think it’s called?), the list goes on. Mine’s slow, crashes constantly, has a terrible battery life, does random things, I can’t reach my voicemail as of this morning, and it has a nice big crack down the middle of the casing. It was time for change. I’ll be sure to write up a detailed review of it after I’ve got it in (hopefully a few days
.
In a quick news roundup: it’ll never beat the iPod, my Star Wars side is geeking out, and do I like Eric enough?
